2. The short version
This website is deliberately simple. It sets no cookies, has no contact form, and loads no fonts, scripts or images from third-party servers, apart from the privacy-friendly web analytics described in section 5. I process personal data only to operate the website, to understand how it is used, and to answer your enquiries.
3. Hosting and server log files (Hosting und Server-Logfiles)
This website is hosted on a dedicated server operated by Empreus Software SRL, Alexandru cel Bun 7, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. The hosting company processes data on my behalf as a processor under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).
When you visit the website, the server automatically processes the technical data your browser transmits: IP address, date and time of the request, the page or file requested, the amount of data transferred, the referrer URL, and browser type and operating system. Purpose: delivering the website and ensuring its security and stability. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure and reliable website).
Storage period: access logs are written without complete IP addresses (the IP address is shortened or removed before storage) and are deleted after 7 days.
Transfer to a third country: the Republic of Moldova is outside the European Union and the European Economic Area, and the European Commission has not adopted an adequacy decision for it. [Interim wording — replace with the sentence below once signed: I am putting in place the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR, Module Two, controller to processor) with Empreus Software SRL to cover this transfer.]
4. Fonts (Schriftarten)
The typeface used on this website (Bricolage Grotesque, licensed under the SIL Open Font License) is stored on the same server as the website. Your browser does not connect to Google or any other font service.
5. Web analytics with Plausible (Reichweitenmessung)
To understand how many people visit the website and which sections are of interest, I use Plausible Analytics, a service of Plausible Insights OÜ, Tartu, Estonia. Plausible works without cookies, does not store information on your device, does not create visitor profiles and does not track you across websites.
Only aggregated statistics are produced: pages viewed, referring website, country, device type, browser and operating system, and anonymous events such as a click on the email, telephone or LinkedIn link. Your full IP address is not stored. According to the provider, the data is processed on servers in Falkenstein, Germany, and remains within the European Union. Plausible acts as a processor on my behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). Further information: plausible.io/data-policy.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in evaluating and improving the website). You can object at any time; see section 9.
6. Contacting me (Kontaktaufnahme)
If you contact me by email, telephone or LinkedIn, I process the data you provide (for example name, company, contact details and the content of your message) to handle your enquiry and any resulting contract. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. I delete the data once your enquiry has been settled, unless statutory retention periods (for example under commercial or tax law) require longer storage.
Links that start an email or a call open the email or telephone application on your device. No data is transmitted to me until you send a message or place a call. Please note that ordinary email is not end-to-end encrypted; for confidential information, agree a suitable channel first.
7. External links
The website contains links to LinkedIn and to the public register of Companies House. Visiting this website does not transfer any data to these services. Only if you click a link do you leave this website, and the privacy policy of the respective operator then applies.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
This website does not set cookies and does not use local storage or comparable technologies to store or read information on your device. A cookie banner is therefore not required. The connection to the website is encrypted with HTTPS.
9. Your rights (Ihre Rechte)
You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)).
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): where I process data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation. Please write to welcome@milosta.com. No automated decision-making or profiling takes place.
10. Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. For Hesse, Germany, this is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (HBDI), Wiesbaden (datenschutz.hessen.de). In the United Kingdom it is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
11. Changes to this policy
I update this policy when the website or legal requirements change. The current version is always available on this page.
